The following is a recovery log from a retrieval team full of unassigned operatives who were tasked with retrieving SCP-8279. The team of operatives then became known as MTF Delta-67 (“Silent Librarians”).

█████: Everyone listen up, as I’m only going over this once. We have found our target’s location. They appear to be in an abandoned church on a hill where there is also tons of anomalous activity. There are reports of people who have walked into the church, but never leave alive. Our main target is Mike Lockman. A picture of Mike Lockman pops up on the projector. He is part of a cult that poses a threat to the Foundation’s secrecy. We need to destroy the cult before they can reveal us to the world.
██████: Alright team. This is how it’s gonna go. Mobile Task Forces Delta-6, “Silent Librarians”, and Alpha-3, “Journal Collectors”, will be the main two teams exploring the location. Once you are there, Delta-6 will guard the perimeter, making sure no one gets in and no one leaves. Meanwhile, Alpha-3 will enter in through here points at an entry point on the church’s layout. They will be tasked with retrieving our target and any other anomalous objects that are found in there. Big Brother will be the eyes in the sky, ensuring that the area is secure. TOC will be the one you will report to. If all goes to hell, an immediate evac will arrive at the location to pick up any remaining survivors, then Big Brother will detonate the rest. Remember, try and keep the target alive.

TOC: Target is coming up. About 3 miles away.
Kalinsky: Roger that TOC. 6-1 out.
Rico: So, why do you think that our target would be at a church?
Kalinsky: Who knows.
Crowe: Maybe it’s for religious purposes.
Crimson: Now what cult would use a church for religious purposes?
Crowe: Hey. You never know.

Rico: Alright, everyone! Get ready! Cameras on!

Video feed shows Kalinsky jumping out of the helicopter and skydiving through the air.

Kalinsky: Everyone here?
Rico: Yeah. I counted.

Video feed switches to the drone view, showing the teams walking through the forest to the church.
Kalinsky: Stay on guard, everyone. We don’t know what could be in here.
UNNECESSARY VIDEO FEED CUT
Video feed shows the two teams at the church.
Kalinsky: 6-1 to TOC. We are at the church.
TOC: Roger that, 6-1. You may proceed with the plan. Shoot anything that comes within the perimeter.
Kalinsky: Roger that. 6-1 out.
Rico: Alright. Delta-6, stay out here and guard the perimeter. Shoot anything that might come out of the church. Alpha-3, follow me.
The video feed switches to Rico’s view as he leads Alpha-3 to the entry point of the church.
Rico: Alright team. On my signal, flash whoever’s in there with a flash grenade and then rush in.
Rico turns the doorknob to the church slightly and then pushes it open very lightly. He then uses a hand signal and Jackman throws in a flash bang. After the flash bang explodes, the team moves in, terminating armed suspects in the pews and detaining victims. They surround their target, who is on his knees at the front of the church in front of a demonic circle drawn in blood.
Rico: HANDS IN THE AIR! LET ME SEE THEM HANDS! DON’T MOVE!
The target slowly raises his hands in the air.
Rico: Alright. Cuff ‘em.
Civago pulls out a pair of zip ties and ties the target’s hands behind his back.
Rico: Alright. Now we search the place.
Crowe: Found something! Come over here!
The team walks over to Crowe, who is holding what seems to be an old journal.
Rico: Good find. Let’s take it back to base. Could be useful evidence.
Crowe: Got it.
Rico: 3-1 to TOC, target is secure. Repeat, target is secure. Requesting evac.
TOC: Roger that 3-1. Evac is en-route.

Closing Statement: The journal then proceeded to undergo some tests. The journal showed anomalous properties after the tests were conducted. The journal is to now be contained in Site-██ at all times. -Director ████, Head of Site-██.
