Rule 0

Don’t be a dick

This is the one main rule you need to follow here. Even though you might be here because you got banned off the main site for some stuff, that doesn’t mean that you get to act like that here. Everyone should act civil here just like interacting with society.

I. Site Behavior

  1. Interaction: When you’re here at this site, you should treat everyone with respect and kindness. Here, we like civil behavior and friendly interaction. Bullying is not tolerated here.
    • a. Admin Interaction: When interacting with admins, you should give them their utmost respect when talking with them. Disrespecting admins will not be tolerated and will result in a punishment1.
  2. Comments: You are able to comment anywhere on this site2. You can give your honest opinion, just don’t be rude or mean about it. You can comment on a max of 6 pages within a 24-hour period. You can only have a maximum of one comment on each page3 within the 24-Hour period. Commenting on more than 6 pages within the 24-Hour period will be seen as repetitive commenting and will be taken down.
    • a. Repetitive Commenting: Commenting on multiple pages or commenting the same thing over and over again within a single day is known as Repetitive Commenting. Repetitive Commenting is identified as a Site Offense and will not be tolerated.
    • b. Aggressive Commenting: Commenting with aggression (i.e an argument) is known as Aggressive Commenting. Aggressive Commenting is a Site Offense and will result in punishment. Any aggressive commenting will be taken down. You can argue in comments, but please do it in a mature and civil way.
    • c. Personal Information Commenting (PIC): Personal Information Commenting (PIC) is telling another person personal information about you or someone else. If it is a personal introduction, that is allowed. If it is information regarding your lifestyle, it is recommended to PM the person you are sending it to. If it is personal information regarding private things (i.e SSN, Credit Card Info, Home Addresses, etc.) then it is seen as a Site Offense and will result in disciplinary action to take place.

II. Site Content

  1. Articles: Do not post low-quality articles constantly. That would be counted as Repetitive Posting and would result in disciplinary action taking place. Think of it like this: “If my articles keep getting downvoted, then I should stop and improve.” If you are told to slow down or stop with posting articles by higher staff or others, you should listen.
  2. Image Usage: Just like the original SCP Wiki, we have rules about our pictures. Those rules include:
    • No Nudity
    • No Watermarks or signatures
    • No Profanity
    • No Racial slurs
    • Note: Using a picture from Google is okay, but please make sure that it doesn’t have any signature or watermark on it before putting it into your article.
  3. Plagiarism: Plagiarism is a HUGE offense not just here, but with the law as well. We do not want plagiarism at all. You can’t copy someone else’s work and just try and say that you created it. If plagiarism is detected or found in your article, your article will be deleted and you will be given a disciplinary punishment.
    • Note: Borrowing text or other material from another person’s work is allowed as long as you cite the source that you got the material from as well as if you don’t try and manipulate the reader to think that it’s your work.
    • One exception to plagiarism when creating an article is non user facing content4
  4. Collaborative Articles: If you create an article where you collaborated with others to create it, then please do the following before posting the article:
    • Give the name of the person you collaborated with in the article
    • Label the parts that the other person did using footnotes. It’s like they say, “Give credit where credit is due.”
  5. Editing: You can edit your own article whenever you want, or you can edit others’ articles. However, if you edit another person’s article, it should only be for grammar, spelling, or format corrections. If you do edit someone’s article, put a description of the changes that you made to the article in the section that says “Short description of changes”.
  6. AI-generated content: Any AI-generated content found in an article will result in the article being taken down5 and the creator of the article will be punished via the Disciplinary Action Scale (DAS)6.

III. Levels of Offensive Actions

  1. Offensive action levels: There are five levels of offensive actions. It includes the following.
    • a. Level One: A level one offensive action is mainly something minor, like aggressive commenting or repetitive commenting.
    • b. Level Two: A level two offense is usually mild to moderate.
    • c. Level Three: A level three offense is moderate. It’s not viable of a warning, but it’s not severe enough for long term consequences.
    • d. Level Four: A level four offense is mainly severe to non-negotiable.
    • e. Level Five: A level five offense is non-negotiable. This means that if you are punished for committing a level five offense, the punishment is final and there is no possible area for compromise.
  2. Offensive action table: Below is a table that shows which offensive actions correlate to the offensive level that it is given.
Offense Level Offensive Actions Offensive Actions Offensive Actions Offensive Actions
Level One Aggressive Commenting Repetitive Commenting Uncivil Interaction with other staff

V. Other Offensive Actions

Raids: Raiding other sites is not okay. It’s not the best way to take down a site.

Stirring up shit: Don’t try and aggravate or provoke someone or a group of people. It’s basically just teasing.

Engage in some dumb tomfuckery: You shouldn’t let others make you do things. If you feel peer pressured, don’t join them. It’s probably a dumb, dangerous idea anyway.

Support Commenting: If your friend posts a shitty article, don’t assemble your group of friends and begin filling the discuss section with comments like, “It looks amazing!” or “Wow! It looks so cool!” Give your honest opinion. Don’t lie, as the rest of society will most likely go against your comments.

Please keep in mind that this is subject to change over time. This information is not permanent. I repeat: This information is not permanent.

Remember:

If it feels wrong, it probably is wrong.

Keep the Site fun for everyone!

Don’t break the rules.
